Treatment

Who do I help?

I work with people whose lives have been affected by mental health challenges, stressful life circumstances, relationship problems, and alcohol and drug use. More broadly, I work with people seeking insight into their challenges, a greater sense of meaning and purpose in their lives, and greater self-compassion.

I commonly help people living with trauma/posttraumatic stress, depression, different forms of anxiety (panic, social anxiety, generalized anxiety), problematic anger, alcohol and drug misuse, chronic pain, and those struggling with adjustment to disability. Many people experience more than one of these challenges.

In addition to working with the general public I have extensive experience working with military service members, veterans, and emergency responders.

What kinds of services do I offer?

I provide psychotherapy to adults in-person or using secure video conferencing.  I am licensed in PSYPACT (Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact), which allows me to practice across state boundaries via telepsychology and in-person.

What is my treatment approach?

Each course of therapy is individually tailored to meet your needs. We will work together to clarify and set goals that make the most sense for you given your priorities and life circumstances. I use evidence-based treatments that have been found to be effective and that are matched to your needs and preferences.

I am certified in the following evidence-based therapies:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders

  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy for posttraumatic stress

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy for posttraumatic stress

What about insurance?

I am not currently accepting insurance. Insurance reimbursement for out-of-network services may be possible with your insurance plans. I am happy to provide documentation of treatment to assist you with requesting reimbursement. I provide services at a reduced cost for military personnel, veterans, and emergency responders.
