About Dr. Eric Meyer
I have been a clinical psychologist since 2005. I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the State University of New York at Binghamton (SUNY-Binghamton) and my post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School. I have been honored to deliver patient care through my private practice and at several medical centers.
In addition to my private practice, I am a Professor and Chair of the Department of Counseling and Behavioral Health at the University of Pittsburgh. I oversee the training program, teach courses, and supervise the next generation of therapists. I also lead a research program aimed at improving the effectiveness of different approaches to psychological treatment. I use these treatments as the basis for developing and testing different approaches to psychological resilience training.
In addition, I have served as a trainer for a nationwide program to train mental health providers in the Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system in delivering Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have authored many peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and given numerous presentations at professional conferences.
